....While you were sleeping...

Saturday night.... and all's well. 00:34, and I haven't xrayed a drunk yet. This is what's called, "speaking too soon" I'm sure. Using phrases like that catches up with me every time. I'm also getting hungry, which is a also a good sign that we will get some trauma in.

Sleep... I didn't get to sleep until after noon today, giving me about five hours; I do feel pretty good, though, so I had five really solid hours. That's all a young man like me should need, right?

Zero Population Growth... is today's topic.

It has occured to me that the main problem with the world today is that there are too many damned people. There are a lot of people who feel this way; many of them have limited their heriditary output voluntarily, opting to have two, one or even no children. The really odd part of this strategy is that it won't work. It won't work because the people who believe in ZPG are more than likely smarter than the average person. It's the people who have average or below-average intelligence that are creating the problems...

So... smart people should do more than just replace themselves, they should overproduce. Well, damn! That won't really work, either.

Although... it would be better to have a world that is overpopulated with smart people, than one like we have, which is overpopulated with dumb people. Like I recently heard... y'know how dumb the average person is? Well, half of the people out there are dumber than that...

There needs to be a way to reduce the population without resorting to wars or famine. China, with all of it's infinite wisedom, has come up with an excellent method. One person per married couple. No kids outside of marriage. Human rights people are, of course, up in arms about this. But it seems to be working. It is a step in a positive direction, and a damn sight better than anything else anyone has come up with.

After all, it shouldn't be a "right" to procreate beyond your means. It should be an obligation to only produce the number of children that you can take care of well... feed, clothe, educate. Then, instead of the population doubling every twenty years, it would halve every fifty or so. And the people could be better educated, and there would be enough food and water and land to go around.

Tune in tomorrow, when the rant will be about how I feel about humanity in general... or maybe not.

Thanx for being here!
