That's how far it is from JD and Tyler's house to mine in Topeka.

Had a dull trip back... I left about 10:30, I think, and got here about 22:30. A twelve-hour trip, with a bunch of little towns and roads being repaired.

The Caddy is a dream to drive, though! After twelve hours, I'm normally sore all over... but I'm not this time. Not exactly refreshed, y'know, but my back and stomach muscles are OK. So I'm sold on Caddys.

The one problem is, though...

JD drove the Caddy while I was in Huntsville, and he said that the brakes operated really hard. Well, I kinda blew it off, thinking that he just wasn't used to them. I should'a been listening!

I have no power assist on the brakes. This makes stopping a real effort. I checked the connections and fuses, with no problems detected. Probably gonna have something to do with a chip in a computer module somewhere... something that costs $500.00 or so, knowing my luck...

I just barely missed four deer coming home. Damn, but I'm lucky!

And I'm also pretty tired right now. I think that I'll go snuggle up with Karen, who is now fast asleep.
