Actually, it isn't 00:00, I just made that up. It's 22:52 on the 9th, so I'm cheating. So sue me.
I am hurt, truly hurt.
Of all of the journals out there that have list of the journalers' favorite journals, I'm only on a couple. Out of 250+!
Actually, I'm not really hurt. I've always been the most unpopular kid on the block, or in the school, or in the barracks. I'm used to it.
And now... now there's a thread on Diary-l, the maillist for Open Pages. "OK, what journals do *you* check on a daily basis?" and people are sending in lists of their *favorite* journals... and...
Guess what?
I won't be on any of them, either! Unless, of course, someone from Dairy-l reads this and decides to feel sorry for me.
Great... I've really blown it now.
Now nobody can put me on their list, because they'll think that I think that they're just feeling sorry for me.
Even if I'm their favorite journaler, and Nilknarf is their favorite journal. What a conundrum! So, since I know that nobody can put me on their list now... I have to assume that everyone who doesn't put me on their list intended to, until I wrote this entry.
By default, that makes me the most popular journaler in the world!
Awwww...! shucks, folks... you really shouldn't've....
I didn't sleep at all last night.... although I did waste several hours trying. The one time that I came close, Karen woke me up, saying that I was beating on the pillow and mumbling something.
I just hate it when that happens...
So... I had made plans with Andy Wunder, Betsy's husband, to go fishing this morning. I got there right at 07:00, and by 07:11 I had the boat in the water and I caught my first bass, a two-pounder, on my second cast. On the fifth cast, I caught a six-pounder. SHortly after that, Andy made it down, and he brought the bad luck with him. I caught maybe ten more fish altogether, and he caught three, I believe.
I had fun, as I always do when I have a fishing pole in my hand. And the six-pounder was really fun. I also caught one about four pounds, and he put up a good fight, too.
So, the fish eventually just shut down. The sky remained overcast, and it was chilly. We had a large high-pressure system move in yesterday, and that shuts the fish down generally. Winds were moderate and variable, I spent most of the morning fighting to maintain position.
I was really nice talking to Andy, though. It has been a couple of years since we went fishing together; he is kept busy most of the time with a hyper (but wonderfully sweet) wife and five kids.
So, Karen is at Packy's school, and I'm agonna take a little nap until she gets home.
