Shit! Again!

Last night I lost my win95 again, only this time I lost... well, my "C" drive, in a very weird way.

I was cruising along when I noticed the system was slowing down. "Aha!" says I, "Time to re-boot!"

So I did. and got the "Starting MS-DOS" on the screen. O'wait, this is really wrong!

Off/on the power. Same shit. So, I put in the start disk. Check my "C" drive in DOS. Hmmm... only 12 Meg total?

Making a long story short: Reformat. Lost everything. Again. Everything. Again.

Notify list... gone. Even the backup, which I kept on "D:" to be safe. Fuck, nothing is safe.

Luckily, I'm feeling somewhat better. Not a lot. Well enough to go to work tonight, after I get a good day's sleep.

That has to happen, or I will probably die.

So, all of you people who are on my "Notify" list, please write me again. You folks who aren't, you can get on it if you want to. It's more of a "reminder" list, really. This is here, new, every day. I just remind you to read it, OK? No pressure or anything.

I did manage to get a few hours of sleep, and I feel a helluva lot better now. I don't think that I'll have any problem at work tonight, anyway.

I spent quite a bit of time on the phone getting my internet account straightened out. Really early on, someone screwed up after an outage and I had a different account name, one letter off from what it was supposed to be. They wouldn't fix it, saying it would be more trouble (to them) than it was worth. It has been trouble to me ever since then, but no more! I talked a guy into changing it, making it match up and everything. He didn't believe that I had two separate accounts for the email, so I had to drain each account while he watched before he believed it.

One less complication...

So, I'm off to take a shower, Karen should be home soon, and maybe she'll take me out for supper? One can always hope... maybe Applebees?
