This last 24 hours has been sheer hell. My whole body aches and in general I feel like shit. I have been sleeping a lot, 30 minutes at a time, with delicious nightmares. I have been coughing a lot, too, and pain wracks my body when I do. I feel like I've got bilateral pleurisy; I can feel my lungs sliding along my chest wall, with just a little bit of friction... enough to be very painful.

I just called in sick. I hate it when I have to do that! It really puts them in a bind, for some reason or another nobody wants to cover third shift. O'well..

Along with all of my other pains, back comes the testicular pain. Probably has something to do with coughing... which probably throws it back to being a surgical problem? Ahhh, who knows...

I'm going back to bed, get another 30 minutes of sleep, with embellishments...

-----17:55-----

I can't seem to lay down without getting sicker, dammit, so I'm just sitting here going through Open Pages. Buncha new journals, some interesting ones.

Yesterday, while Karen was at the store, I went out on the front deck to smoke. When I was about half-way done with my cigarette, I started feeling cold. Within a matter of seconds, my teeth were chattering. This is something that I'd never experienced before, and I didn't like it. So I jumped into the shower and turned it up as hot as I could stand, and stayed in there for 30 minutes or so. I finally stopped chilling and started sweating profusely. There was no time in the middle where I was comfortable, though. I took my temperature and it was just a little over normal.

When I called in, I learned that there were other people who had called in with the symptoms that I'm having. That does make me feel better, it means that my inhalation of stuff yesterday wasn't a direct cause, but probably just set it off.

Karen came home with a headache, I really hope that she isn't getting it too. She needs to be able to take care of me, then when I'm well, she can get it, and I can take care of her.

Actually, I am feeling much better now, as long as I remain upright. Unfortunately, gravity being what it is and all, this is not a long-term solution...

Thanx for being here!
