Sometimes jackasses get their just rewards. It happened last night...
I was on my way out to the smoking area when I noticed that a security guy was talking to someone that was out of my line-of-sight,
Sometimes jackasses get their just rewards.
and he had his back turned to me and his hand on the door. So, with all the imagination that a second-grader could muster, I decided to hold the door shut while I was out of sight. I hooked my fingers around the handle and waited.

I felt a slight tug on the door, then another, then a mighty jerk! that about broke my hand. It was my buddy Steve, and he didn't know whether to be pissed at me or feel sorry for me because of my poor fingers. I don't think that the "sorry" won out in this case... I would've been happy if it was a draw.

And I have two very sore (and they will turn black) fingernails that will remind me for a coupla months that I am a jackass...

With the exception of that little incident, it was an OK night. I got up too late to eat anything and I was famished by 01:00 when I got a chance to go to lunch. I pretty much stayed busy most of the night, though.

And my week on the diary crit list is up. I have gotten some very good information, some of which I will share at a later date. I will get some time in the next couple of weeks to complete my re-design, and I have a lot of new (and I hope that's good!) ideas. There are a lot of very sharp people on that crit-list...

Lacee got sicker yesterday evening, and Kim called the doc and then she and Karen brought her in to the ED. Poor little thing, she looked like a little wet puppy dog that was tired of getting whipped. Little girls should not have dark circles under their eyes. She had been running a fever off and on for three days, temporarily relieved with Tylenol. After they checked her in and took her temp (102.9F) they gave her a double dose of tylenol. Within thirty minutes she was bunches better, even smiling occasionally. The doc checked her, she had a bad ear infection and probably strep throat; she's getting "bubble-gum medicine" as my boys used to call it... amoxycillin. I hope (and expect) that she'll get well pretty quick... kids get sick so fast, and then they can bounce right back... it's amazing.

Thanx for being here!
