I was up with the sun this morning. Well, not really, but I was up with the storm that caused the sunrise to not be seen. I guess that I had enough sleep, although I don't see how that could be possible.
So... it was raining. I fixed Karen and me a pot of coffee and she went off to work (on a SATURDAY? That's DISgusting!) and I went to the computer. I got a letter from Uncle Buck saying that he only had a 256 color monitor and my page looked really... illegible on it. So I did some research and found that there are 216 colors that NS likes (will reproduce without dithering or whatever it is), and most of the colors I use are quite similar to ones on that list, so I changed them. Homesite 2.5 is a wonderful tool...
Is it working now, Buck?
So, while I was in there, I decided to check for broken links, etc in my archives. It opened a real can-o-worms... there were many, and hardly any of them fixable with global search and replace. So... I have gone from January '97 through the present. I do have to finish up the rest of them really soon, though... I'm up for critique this next week (kinda reminds me of inspection day in the good 'ol United States Army...)
Tyler and Karen and I went out to eat at Courtney's last night, and I didn't get my usual omelette. I got liver and onions, and it was excellent! The must have a new cook.. Karen got a cantelope stuffed with tuna salad, and Tyler got a cheeseburger and onion rings. The little girl who waited on us was extremely pretty and very efficient. I tried to convince Tyler that he should marry her, but he didn't seem very enthusiastic about it, even when I pointed out that she was not wearing a ring and was probably just waitressing while she got her education to be a lawyer. So I decided that since Tyler wouldn't marry her, I would. Well, Karen was being really selfish about it and nipped that idea in the bud.
After eating, we went to a ball game where Matt and Steve were playing. Kim and the kids were there, too. Lacee has had her hair cut recently and, as usual, is as cute as a bug. Matt and Steves' team lost something like 15 to 2 though. It is a co-rec team, and the men seemed to be constantly covering for the women. Steve plays right field, and there were two girls playing center right and left. If a ball was hit right to the right-center field girl she would attempt to catch it. If she had to move, though... it was Steve who had to get the ball. Matt was the pitcher, and he was very disgusted with the fielding situation. He wound up looking pretty bad as a pitcher, even though it wasn't really his fault. The other team batted around at least twice...
O'yeah, and they couldn't hit worth a damn, either, the men or the women. It was actually pretty entertaining.
The other team's girls were athletes: hitting, catching, running. They were, as a whole, better than the guys on that team.
The other team's pitcher walked by us at some point carrying an armfull of cucumbers. I asked him if he was going to start throwing Matt's team cukes? He came back by later and offered us all of the cucumbers we could carry... Karen brought home several.
After the ball-game, we went out to K-mart to check prices on a trolling motor. I had seen some at Hypermart earlier, and I decided that I need a new one. K-mart had one that had part of a sale tag still on it, so I found a salesperson. She said that no, that was last week. I thought that maybe she'd offer me the sale price anyway, but no go. So we went home empty-handed.
Tyler and I thought about getting up early this morning and going fishing, then we decided against it. Good thing, since it would've rained on us...
More later...
I was going to wait until something interesting happened, but that doesn't appear likely right now. Tyler has finally got out of bed... Karen and I went to Sam's... I finished working on the archives... I can't hardly stay awake. I'm going to take a nap shortly.
Right now... that's when I'm going to take a nap...
