I didn't feel like writing in the middle of the night. I didn't much feel like doing anything, and that worked out all right too. A well-deserved break in the hectic work load happened. I did enjoy the night, but I'm still worn out; luckily, I only have one more night to go!

A few random thoughts...
In order to have a society built on trust, that society has to be comprised of
"You don't need to worry about your belongings: there are no thieves here, we have killed them all."
trustworthy individuals.

Our society is built on mistrust. And the trusting and/or trustworthy individual is at a disadvantage.

Recently, I read a story, either on the web or in a magazine, about a guy (maybe a photographer) who was traveling in somewhere like Afganistan or somewhere like that... a country where the mores are not understood by the average american. He was somewhat uneasy because everyone he met was armed: many with .22 rifles or pistols, but armed nonetheless.

He was traveling with several bags containing his equipment and personal belongings, and was furtively keeping an eye on them: he didn't want to appear to not trust these people, but he didn't; they were very different from him. One of the men noticed him worrying about his stuff, and came over and told him, "You don't need to worry about your belongings: there are no thieves here, we have killed them all."

American society, and society in general, is not built on trust. There is said to be honor among thieves, but I don't believe that it is so. In order to have honor, a person must believe in themselves, and rely on their own selves to provide their needs in an honorable manner. An honorable person is a trustworthy person. They can be trusted to honor their word. They can be trusted not to steal; they can be trusted to find an honorable way to make a living. They can be trusted to make decisions in their lives that will not harm others.

Honorable people can make mistakes, but they don't make the same mistake more than once, especially if it involves harm to another person.

Gee, I guess that all that's left to say is... people who are without honor are fucking scum.

What has me still pissed of, of course, is Tyler getting his stuff stolen. He is a good kid, and I really hate to see him getting hurt like this. And the fucking scum who ripped him off will get away with it even if they do get caught. And that is just not fucking right.

Thanx for being here!
