Microsoft gives us something to think about; a list of problems with MSIE 4.0 PR2. It doesn't mention that it is both unwise to install the desktop component and stupid to not listen to my advice on the situation:Just Don't Do It! Evidently I am not the only one bitten by this particularly vicious set of circumstances: at least one member of the IE-HTML list has sufficiently recovered his system enough to write about it.

Misery loves company? No, not really. Stupidity loves company. It is refreshing to know that I am not the stupidest kid on the block.

The Mighty Kymm is not available, and hasn't been for about three days. This is not fair.

Karen and I had a little tiff last night, and she went to bed without saying good night or giving me a kiss or anything. When I got up this morning, however, there was a note on the table. "Doug, I love you!SMILEY FACE Karen"

I downloaded the Microsoft Dictation System yesterday. I just want to see how it compares to the IBM system that I bought two weeks ago and that I am still not satisfied with.

I'm continuing to download software and install it to get my system back where I want it. I keep remembering stuff that I use occasionally and then I need to remember the name, search for it and download it.

It continues to be cloudy and sultry here in Kansas. Another thunderstorm this morning again. For some reason, I am not really motivated to go fishing; maybe the trip with Doug and Chris Thursday satisfied the urge. I will not have another trip like that one for a while.

In actuality, I am not motivated to do anything. I am in a funk, for some reason. Yes, I am still taking my Prozac. No, I have not resumed drinking. It just seems that there is nothing interesting enough to do. Lack of imagination, maybe. There are numerous things that I need to do... and I'm not doing them. They are boring and mundane things, and I want to do something wild and challenging.

Enough of that.

For some really really weird reason... I keep having old messages show up in my mailboxes. I saved every one of the diary-l messages and the [CRIT] messages, and yesterday all of the diary-l messages (like 2000+ of them) showed up in my [CRIT] folder. These are part of the messages that I thought that I saved but I couldn't find. Where the hell are the rest of them? Floating around somewhere on my "E" drive, waiting to find a place where they want to land? Kinda like a flock of ducks... I need a field with downed corn (easy food) to lure them. I need some help with finding the digital equivalent of downed corn...

I'm going to try something different starting with this entry. I will upload it every time I add to it, which means that if you read it at 15:00, there may be more content by 22:00. Eventually, I might call this entry "current" and not put it in as a dated entry until it's really done... I need to think about this some.

Anyway, there may be more later. It's now 12:40, and this is going up.

My first commercial product is now on-line. Yes, Steve, it's a commercial product. You owe me a steak!

Anyway, the page is still in pretty rough form, being as Steve hasn't given me any real content to put up yet...

Steve is a good friend who works at the hospital. He and I spend a lot of my free time bullshitting... all of his time is free, he's in security. All he has to do is keep his eyes open...

I have been working for the last six hours on a major project... putting all of my site files in their little cubbyholes. I will now have only one file in my root directory, and everything else will be in separate directories. This is the way that I should've set it up in the first place, but it was just too easy to do the other way.

I did stop for dinner with Karen... she grilled some salmon and stir-fried some veggies. Delicious stuff. Have I mentioned lately that she's a wonderful woman? Well, she is.

A great help has been having HomeSite 2.5. I actually registered it today. I've decided to use it on a daily basis, instead of only occasionally. Mostly for the spell-checker, but there are other reasons, too.

Anyway, now I have to get enough gumption together to dump everything that I have on-line and start uploading everything. That might not happen until tomorrow morning, I would like to start off with a clear head when I do it. I will ask for your assistance in pointing out any errors that you might find, though... broken links, unviewable images, that sort of thing.

Come to think of it, I haven't got much in the way of email lately, either. Let me know that you're here, OK? (I hate it when I have to beg... but if it works? I guess it's OK then...

Thanx for being here!
