Hectic day, yesterday
We had a pretty nice time, eventually all of Karen's kids made it over and the house was full. Baby Drew is starting to show a temper; he got upset with me a couple of times. He doesn't like being teased.
Unfortunately, Karen had promised Lacee that she could spend the night here; I was supposed to be at work, after all. So, Karen, Lacee and Betty went to bed, while I stayed up and checked out the days' journal entries.
About 23:30 Tyler and Ben come home. They are acting like they are excited about something. Well, it seems that they have decided to go to Dallas, since Ben was not getting along with his uncle here in Topeka. So we got Tyler's stuff out of the bedroom where Betty was sleeping, trying not to wake her up. The boys had both slept very late yesterday, so they were well-rested. Tyler is planning on driving his truck back up here in a few days, he thinks that maybe he'll be gone for a week or so.
After they leave, I spend more time on the web, and I go to bed about 01:30. Went right to sleep, but Lacee started kicking me awake at 02:30. I don't know what it is with that girl... but I really can't stand trying to sleep in the same bed with her. I lay there awake and every three minutes, she kicks her legs and moves her arms around. Karen, of course, is completely zonked and seems not to notice. I'm sure that Lacee must've been kicking her just as much as she was me...
So anyway, I give up on it and get up about 03:00. Looking at some porn on a newsgroup. That stuff doesn't appeal to me the way that it once did. Maybe I've seen too much, or maybe I'm just getting old. Either way, it's boring.
So what am I doing there??? Because I can...
Al of Nova Notes got in a little hot water with The Gus because Al included the URL for Ellie and not for The Gus when he was describing the situation betwinx the two. Well, it appears that Al got out the dictionary and... well, go see for yourselves. I deliberately didn't include any URLs but Als'. Yes, you can learn from others' mistakes... sometimes.
Al (see URL above) was talking some about his former drinking days. I have thought about doing that in the past, but I always talked myself out of it. Unlike Al, there is way too much material there for me to try to make sense of it. If I just did one anecdote a day of how I made a fool of myself, it would take about three years. And those are just the incidences that I remember...
Strange... I miss Tyler already, and he's only been gone 13 hours.
Today is Karen's birthday. Lacking inspiration, I didn't write her a poem, as is my tradition, but I did use a program to make her a card. I feel guilty about that; I think that the medication for the back is not allowing me full use of my head....
I slept from about noon until 18:30. When I got up Ric and Debbie and Jeff and Betty had arrived, and everyone was just sitting down to eat. Tyler and his friend Ben from Dallas had gone off to some music stores to browse, Karen told me.
