OK, here's how it is: light duty for two weeks. Lift nothing over ten pounds. No prolonged walking or standing: spend at least half my time sitting.
Huh. Have fun didn't make the list.
Light duty means, in this case, no duty at all. I don't like that part. I was hoping that maybe they'd stick me at a terminal somewhere to do something useful, but I guess not, dammit.
Last night did not go well, as you can tell from the entry up to this point.
Kinda the pits, really. I was limping badly by the time 23:00 rolled around and the last tech left. Luckily, it was not a busy night, I only did about five patients from 23:00 on. My back was still killing me, I hate to think of what I would feel like if it would've been busy....
My supervisor came in early to talk to me about how I injured myself, and I told her that I was going to see my family doc today. So when I call my family doc, the nurse told me that St. Francis would have to see me, that they couldn't 'cause it was a work comp case.
So I go back to the hospital to see the work comp doc, and he said, yeah, your back hurts. So I will keep taking the same meds and take it very easy. O'yeah, I get to start physical therapy next Monday. More thrills. It would be nice if it was just a backrub, but I've heard that they make you do exercises!
Karen's mom will be coming to stay with us the next two days and Karen is off tomorrow (it's her birthday!) so that will be nice. Poor Tyler will have to sleep on the couch, but it's probably better that the bed that he sleeps on at J.D.'s....
Anyway, I'm way behind getting to sleep, so I'll put this up and hit the sack.
