...Again...
No, let's try something different.
Well, that's not it, either. Damn. Busy, busy night all over the hospital. It was another beautiful day here, so people were going out and hurting themselves. Some of them in interesting ways, too. Ahhh... the stories I could tell.
By the time I got up my mouth had healed completely, just a little tender. Bodies are amazing sometimes. I wish my body were twenty years younger, though. Nights like tonight really take it out of me. There are other nights, not connected with work at all, that I wish my body was twenty years younger, too. O'well, I am thankful (once again, who is an atheist thankful to?) that my body is here at all.
I have a song going through my head. I was reminded of it by yesterday's reference to Ape Call. The name of the song, from the same era, is I Feel the Beat by somebody. I've got it on a 45, and the label is pretty well worm off, and the grooves are pretty well worn out, too.
I finally got the code figgered out for you netscrapers... but I haven't had time to execute it yet. I try not to work on tables and suchlike with a less-than-clear mind...
I've been getting a lot of mail on the other journal ring. Including a nice note from Lucy. I hope that the anger has run its' course by now... it has been, to me, more than mildly amusing in a way. Sometimes we all (and I'm definitely including myself in this) take ourselves too fucking seriously. A little step back improves the view a lot. It works even better if, when stepping back, we stumble and fall on our asses.
But this is to no avail if we don't have the capacity to laugh at ourselves!
This is going to be short, I had to work too damned hard last night!
...In the Middle of the Night...
I was too damned busy to write...
It's Sattiday Night in Topeka Town,
Not as many got up as went down...
BAH, bah, BAH, bah,
Dooby - do BAH, bah...
Every tiiiiiime we meet...
BAH, bah, BAH, bah,
Dooby - do BAH, bah...
I feeeeeeel the beat!
BAH, bah, BAH, bah,
Dooby - do BAH, bah...
I've been playing Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw and Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington and I still can't make it go away.
