This should be an especially significant entry for my one-year anniversary, but it won't be. What it Will Be is a sober reflection of this last year, and what I've learned while I've been doing this.

I've learned that, while 99% of everything is shit, 97% of the people that I've met online concerning this journal and other journals are wonderful bighearted people.

I've learned that yes, I can write every day if I make the effort. I've done really well these last six months.

I've learned that I'm a better speller than I thought I was, but there is still a lot of improvement to be made.

I've learned that there are some people (about 25/day) that like to read what I write. There are a lot of other people who visit only once... they don't like my writing, but they don't bother to tell me why. Maybe they don't want to hurt my feelings... which makes them nice people.

I've learned that it is extremely difficult to figger out something to write about on a daily basis.

I've learned that it is very difficult (but possible) to write honestly about people without hurting them.

I've learned that I love doing this. It is indeed a strange outlet for my innate creativity. It keeps me from getting bored without keeping me from being boring.

I've learned that this is harder work that I thought it would be... all of the little details that need to be done right, the daily changes in the links, these things are more time-consuming than the writing aspect of keeping an on-line journal.

I continue to learn how to write. I find that there are some things that are extremely hard to say and that, try as I might, I can't figger out how to say them. A really good example of my efforts and my failure to do this is my last essay, honesty. I have never written anything that I am ashamed of, but there are some things that I'm not really proud of. But each one is a learning experience.

I continue to learn how much Fun living is, and that writing about it enhances the fun factor.

I've learned that I love getting email! And speaking of email... my new email address is nilknarf@atheist.com. This is a kinda neat deal. If you're interested in learning more, go to iname.com and check it out.

Thanx for being here!
