While you were sleeping....
Naaaahhh.... that doesn't fly today. While you were sleeping, I worked my butt off. And the night still passed excruciatingly s - l - o - w! 'Course, looking at my watch every ten minutes didn't help much...

Well, we're off! I'm gonna get about four hours of sleep first, though, I'll probably end up driving the last half!

Look for the BIG FISH PICS when we return! Bad start... I only got two hours of sleep before Doug got here. We were leaving at the same time that Lisa was. Doug had got off early, and so had Les, and Greg was off all day. Doug picked me up, and we drove over to his house and loaded up Gregs' truck. Greg was pulling Dougs' new boat, and Les was pulling his boat with his truck.

We listened to the game on the way down. I'm talking, of course, about the KU basketball game. We were very disappointed with the outcome.

I rode down with Les; we left about 15:00 and got to the Wal-mart in Sulpher Springs, TX to get our Texas licenses and about 23:30.

Service there was very slow, as usual. We were all beat, me only having two hours and nobody else slept well last night either. We did not have a reservation for Friday night, so we went to the lodge and pulled up by the launch ramp and went to sleep in the trucks.

Both trucks are late models, and are extended cabs with reclining seats. Unfortunately, I could not get to sleep. My legs started hurting, and I got my duffle bag out of the boat and elevated my legs. That didn't help at all, so I decided to put on my cold-weather gear and sleep on the boat deck.

As I was in the process of doing this, I discovered that Greg had the same idea for a different reason... Doug is a prodigious snorer. He can literally rattle windows. So... Doug is snoring in Gregs' truck, Greg is trying to sleep on Dougs' boat deck, Les is uncomfortably sleeping in his truck and I am blissfully snoring away on Les' boat deck. Greg escaped one snorer only to meet up with another one with lesser though still irritating volume. I awake with my face and hands freezing, it's about 45 degrees F. The comet is breath-taking, it's close to 04:30. Nobody has had a satisfactory rest. Saturday is starting.

Thanx for being here!
