Going to be a rainy day, cloudy & yukky. Just fine with me, though. I've got no outdoor plans at all. Going to watch the chief's game when it's on, other than that, nothing. Going to load up a couple more games on the machine that the 486 couldn't run, and see how they play. I was so impressed with Doom II that I'm willing to put out some effort on some others that I've had laying around for a couple of years. Have I told you how impressed I am with my Compaq? No? Well, I am... a whole bunch.
Lazy Sunday morning. I got up about 04:00 and watched the sky get lighter and lighter. No sunrise, of course. The newspaper was pretty light, considering it's the weekend before xmas. The retailers either got discouraged or they already got all the money that they need... right... but Karen kinda accused me of throwing away most of the ads.
Buddy Doug is quitting smoking on the First, and I think that I will join him in that endeavor. No pressure whatsoever, it's just time to try again. I might start a little early, just to get a jump on things, and it's easier when I'm at work to quit, anyway. Or it has been in the past.
Since I'm working xmas day night anyway, I called up the guy who works the opposite shift and offered to work xmas eve night for him. He declined, saying that he's worked his schedule around it and he was almost out of vacation anyway. Well, I tried to be nice. It's the thought that counts. Actually, I'm not looking forward to xmas too much (does that surprise anyone?) except for the Lacee and Packy part.
I ran across a newsgroup that's a lot of fun: alt.stupidity. My kinda people. I'm also gonna start reading the alt.stop.smoking group again.
I tried to put a stop sound button on this page but I couldn't get it to work... sorry, you just gotta put up with it, I guess. You could just turn your sound way down...
More later.... since it's still early!
18:51: Time to finish this up... Karen and Kim and Lacee went shopping again, leaving Packy with me. He watched TV for a while and I surfed, then he got bored and I got him started on Doom II. He loves it, of course, so there goes the computer when he's around. He's really pretty good at it, he should be with all of the video games that he's got.
When Karen got home we went out to eat, down to Courtney's, where I had my usual omelette and Karen had the stuffed peppers. MMMMmmm good. Cheap, too. We had a talk about how she's spent my last three weekends off with Kim, and how I'm getting kinda tired of it. And JD & gang might not be coming up over their break... long story, and a situation which I hope to rectify. I need to call him tonight and see what we can figger out.
The Chiefs suck. They need to start a new team from the ground up, with the exception of Marcus Allen. They were sad today. I did get cheered up a little when the Dallas Drugboys lost big. I just love to see them lose. They are still in the playoffs, however, and can't quite be counted out yet.
The Chiefs started out 4 and 0. How far they have fallen! From Super Bowl Contenders to has-beens... I'm just glad that I don't really care about professional sports anymore, it's just something to talk about sometimes. I know people whose week is ruined when the Chiefs lose... and a couple who are the same way about the Drugboys...
Well, that'll do it for tonight....
