My Kid Beat Up Your Honor Student... seen on the back of a big pickup truck at 29th and Fairlawn, Topeka, KS. at 12:20 this afternoon. Something to think about. I didn't get a look at the driver, he had those illegally-tinted windows. He gave no indication that he saw my greeting, either...
Anti-intellectuals scare me. I can't figger them out (duh... if I could, I would be one) and they seem to be in the majority. Anti-computer people are strange too. An anesthesiologist told me the other night when I showed her a digitally-enhanced film for a line placement for her patient: "I wouldn't have a computer in my house! I might have to think about early retirement..." So I sez: "You're one of those people, huh. We'll have to implant a chip in your brain, so you can get these images without actually having to look at them..." She got a little upset. The hell with her.
I'm the catch-up king. 28 hours of sleep in the last 34. Wiped out my deficit in one swell foop. Unfortunately, my sinusitis/otitis symptoms have returned. Started another dose of a different kind of antibiotic last night, still no symptomatic relief yet. It usually takes 24 hours, unless you take a decongestant, which I shouldn't, but I do sometimes anyway.
I should go over and work on the rental house today, but I'm gonna get my other HD going and my TV capture card hooked up first. Then I need to figger out my sleeping strategy for the weekend, since I work Friday night and Monday night. We're going over to Herm and Debi's Saturday night for dinner, I'm looking forward to that. I got used to seeing Debi frequently, and since she quit I miss her! Herman, too, of course ;^}|
19:03 05/12/96... I wish I could figger out how to get that date turned around the right way, 12/05/96, without losing the 24hr timeset.
After running some errands today, I started getting the shakes. I figgered it was due to coffee (real stuff) and chocolate (Lisa's fudge) and then I realized that Lisa's fudge was the only solid food that I'd had. So I ate a square meal (rice chex in a round bowl) and felt better, so much better that I decided to take a nap. Karen woke me up at 18:00. More catch-up, or maybe a subconscious effort to get back on a night schedule in preparation for tomorrow. In leu of a conscious plan.
I added another journal to my Other Journals page tonight. And that's about it. Surfing and taking care of email.
Peeve of the day: Patients who continue talking to me when I put the stethoscope on to check their blood pressure. Wouldn't you think that when you stick something in your ears, people would just know that you couldn't hear them? Is that really hard to figger out?
