Two songs going through my head:
A-a-a-As I walk along And this one...
...Saint Peter don't ya call me 'cause I can't go-o-o-o,
Good 'ol Tennessee Ernie Ford! (he's dead now, I think.)
No, I don't believe that these songs are significant in any way; they're just there, and they won't go away.
No sleep again yesterday; Well, I got 4 hours, woke up 'cause I had to pee, and never could get back to sleep. Like, something is telling me that I only need to sleep four hours a day. I need to find that something and kill it, it's a traitor. I kinda halfway dozed from 17:00 to 19:00, when the alarm went off. Kept hitting the snooze, I wonder if the sleep that you get after hitting the snooze button is actually useful, or maybe it just gives you the illusion that you're getting more sleep.
While I was not sleeping today, I worked some more on getting MS News going. I finally gave up on it and downloaded Free Agent, which I don't really like, but it's free (natch) and it works just fine. Incidentally, the porno is still out there, in case you haven't checked lately. So is the bass fishing newsgroup. I really don't think that I'll get to much into the groups, though. It takes a lot of time, and really isn't all that much fun. I was just getting frustrated because I couldn't do it. Now that I can... no big deal.
The MS HTML list that I recently subscribed to is having an xmas page contest. I'm thinking of putting up an anti-xmas page (what else) and entering it. Now that I know how to animate graphics, I could have a burning xmas tree, a santa dropping his pants... sounds like fun! If I get it done you'll all get an invitation... but don't hold your breath. It's not really high on my priority list...
I need to get the December calendar done tonight, too. I hate leaving things 'til the last minute. OK. Did that. (There was a gap here, during which I attempted to eat lunch, spilled a full large glass of iced tea and did six patients.)
Just got a chance to see the forecast: fog, light rain changing to snow by mid-day; 2-4 inches by evening. Karen better get on the road early in the morning. I talked to her right before I came in to work, she said that she wasn't planning to leave Wichita until after noon. I'm going to persuade her to leave a lot earlier in the morning. The Ford van is not exactly a good vehicle for driving in the snow and/or ice.
I really do like this Compaq. It's just about everything I ever wanted in a computer; but I sure do feel guilty about spending the money. O'well, I'm going to be working some OT this next week, that'll help make up a little bit of that, anyway.
I sure would like to find a way to make more money, though, preferably with my computer. And there's only a million other guys out there thinking the same thing!
I wonder... what went wrong...
With our love... a love that was so strong...
I O-o-owe my so-o-oul... to the company sto'
