The KC Chiefs surprised me today, too, by beating the Packers handily. Surprised a lot of other people, too. They've been playing pretty shitty lately, it was good to see them have a good game against a good team.
The Dallas-San Francisco game was supposed to be on Fox after the chiefs game, but it isn't. Have I mentioned that I love seeing Dallas get beat?
Slate-grey sky. Cold. The maple trees are giving up their last leaves reluctantly. Snow flurries predicted. Yeah, right. Like the 22nd of October. Ten inches of flurries. I've lost my trust in the weatherpeople once again. Ah, that's not right either. I've never trusted them. I would just really like to.

I would really like to lose my general cynicism. Unfortunately, I think that once you've got it, it's yours for life.
Smoking... doing OK, I guess. I did smoke a couple (OK, it was three) that I bummed from Debi last night. I think that I'm going to quit mentioning it here any more until I'm smokeless for about a week or two, then I'll come back and tell you how I'm doing. I'm not very proud of my record so far.
I'm thinking really hard about mail-ordering a bare bones system from a place called Yorkshire Computers. Anyone had any experience with them? $699 for a case, CPU (Pentium-166), 3.5 disk, I/O, SVGA and 1 Meg ram. Another $169 for 32 MB Ram and I should be set. I still haven't given up on the 486 though. I'm just gonna buy a serial board and see if that'll fix it. Maybe I won't have to spend any money at all.
Up all night last night again. Slept from 08:30 to 12:45 today, so I'm going to bed real soon now. Don't worry, I'll be back tomorrow!
Went over to Herman and Debi's last night and watched the fights. I haven't watched fights for years. Interesting, they really were. And surprising, too. Three of the four featured fights were excellent. The final bout was a real nailbiter up until the 11th round. I was happy to see Holyfield win, just 'cause I like underdogs. And he was a real underdog, 7 to 1 odds going in.
