21:39

Long, long drive back to Topeka, but relatively uneventful. Fun, of course, with Karen for company! We left Hunstville about 08:30 and got here about 20:45. There was a lot of construction on the roads between there and here, plus we took a fairly long supper break about 17:00. And someway or another we went through downtown Tulsa, which slowed us down considerably.

I really hated to leave JD and Tyler and Lisa. I really wish that we lived a lot closer so we could see each other more frequently. They're all such neat kids, and I really like to be around them. We had a lot of fun, although we didn't really do anything exciting, just hung around. I got to meet some of Tyler's friends, though, and they seemed to be really nice kids. I had met Clay last year, he's a neat kid, and I got to meet Chad this time too. Chad is younger than the rest of Ty's friends, but he's into computers really big, and he's a sharp kid. And I can't for the life of me remember the other kids' name, but he impressed me too. Getting old is hell. Actually, I can't blame age for my poor memory for names... I've been that way all of my life. Anyway, I'll remember it later...
I really wanted to get videos of everyone so I could post them, but I forgot until last night, so I just got JD and Tyler and Lisa. Plus some of Karen, too. I'll post them one at a time over the next several days, so's not to overload any one page with graphics...

Speaking of the next several days... it might take me that long to transcribe for the last week, but I will have an entry up for (almost) every day. I wrote an entry for Friday the 13th when I got to Huntsville, but I was unable to get JD's computer set up right to get it FTP'd... and... well, it's a long story. And a frustrating one, too. Actually, really sad.

Additionally, when I got home and tried to get online, I couldn't! Right now, I'm really pissed. The first time I tried to log on, it told me that my password wouldn't work. OK, so I mistyped it. Happens sometimes. Tried again. Same thing. Again... PW was OK, but the network said it wasn't set up right, goodbye.

I had just been through all of this at JD's, I didn't really want to start all over again. Shit. So here I sit, whiling away my time writing, when I want to be online reading what's been going on with everyone else. Well, I guess I'm going to have to write this sometime anyway, huh? But I Want My MAIL!NOW!

OK, another subject altogether.

Karen and I stopped in NE Texas somewhere for gas and coffee this morning. We also grabbed a couple-three candy bars. I went to pay and told the lady that we got gas, too, and handed her my credit card. She said, "Do you want everything on the card?"

It was a temptation that I couldn't resist. "No, that won't work. Just put the things that I bought from you on the card..." I didn't really think that Visa would cover Everything. Anyway, the lady cracked up. She asked Karen, "Is he always this way?" and Karen just ruefully nodded her head...

Anyway, it is very good to be home, anticipating sleeping in my own bed. I'm sure that JD and Lisa are looking forward to sleeping in their bed, too. They've been sleeping on the floor. Sweet kids.

This is enough for one days' entry. More tomorrow (and yesterday, too... I'll put links in as I get them up...).

Well, I guess it's not enough. I finally got online... I had forgotten my fucking password, and I had to look it up. I was using JD's password from his SHSU account... so I feel really stupid, and I just wanted you all to know that... see, I'm not perfect!

Thanx for being here!
