I got some email from my son JD yesterday, he's getting enrolled in school, and he will finally have a legal and legitimate email account. Hopefully we will now be able to communicate on a more regular basis; he's never at home when I call him!

I've been getting a lot of inquiries about the Net Atheist symbol on the front page. For a list of atheistic resources, see my links file on the main menu page. I had no idea that there were so many of us out here, although it makes sense... only the more intelligent and logical people use computers...

I'm using the DOS edit program (the one from qbasic) on this old 386 Dos machine at work, and I'd forgotten how funny it is. However, I'm not laughing, not at all. And at one time i had a "I (heart) DOS" sticker on my bumper... Ah, the good old days. Never again.

Really having trouble getting back into programming in Foxpro. Actually, I'm re-programming some stuff I did years ago, and it's boring. I already did it once! Updating Foxplus programs, actually. I used a lot of work-arounds in fox+ that are not necessary in Foxpro, and that really don't work that well, if at all. Most of the basic display programs that I wrote still work well, though. Actually, I'd forgotten how slick they are. I need to get back into basic programming, and learn C. I keep thinking that'll be a good winter project. I've been thinking that for several years now....

I got some really snotty email at work from a coworker (different shift, of course) and I was really pissed for a while. I was thinking of all kinds of snotty things to say back at her. I even had them written down. But then I thought better of it, and decided to take a humorous approach. I worked really well in this situation, as it does in most others. I'll have to remember that next time I get pissed at someone (it doesn't happen very often). My approach to life is mostly humorous, anyway, but sometimes I forget that and think like a human...

Good news! Doggie is using her doggie door now, albeit reluctantly. She just uses it to come in, though. Give her a break! She's an old dog, new tricks are hard. Hell, old tricks are hard...

Beautiful weather here lately... low eighties, humidity down, sun shinin', birds singin', fleas jumpin'... gotta give that old dog a bath!

Later...

Thanx for being here!
