Lazy day for me, but only because I thought it was Monday! I figgered it out right before Karen got home. She was off yesterday and fooled me... so I can blame her for it. Anyway, that means that I have to go back to work Tomorrow and not the day after, so I need to sleep tomorrow day, so I can't get other stuff done that needs to get done. But it needs to get done anyway, so I'll get up early and get it done before I go to Medassist to work.
I finally got MSIE 3.0 final version downloaded. Been trying off and on, almost had it last night, 98%, when the connection broke. So I saved it to disk today and installed it that way. Seems to be working OK, but I heard that there were some problems with it. I guess I'll find out soon. I really like the integrated mail, though.
Open pages is really neat, but I find myself still reading almost the same journals, and only glancing at new ones. It seems like there is only so much time (duh) and so much to read. Plus, my old steadies are like friends, and new people aren't quite so interesting until you get to know them. So I'm just browsing... but I like them all so far! And I'm sure that I'll get into some of them eventually. Soon I'll just be glued to this computer (Karen thinks I already am).
I've not been feeling well lately, not feeling bad, but just kinda headachey, stomach problems, lack of enthusiasm about hardly anything, not much appetite... maybe the weather, I dunno. Weird dreams. I think that sometimes I get too much to do and overload and don't do any of it and I make myself sick so I'll have an excuse? Or not getting things done makes me sick?
I just talked to the mechanic about the Saab, it'll be ready tomorrow. Around $2,000.00, he said. Someone (Bill, I think) was talking about a new tranny costing about $1000.00 for a toyota or something like that. I don't really see what can make a transmission cost that much, especially a rebuilt one.
Well, I'm going to try to get out of this funk. I started moving stuff around in the basement earlier, preparatory to my move down there. Jeesus, I got a lotta junk! Garage sale time, I guess. But I really hate to part with any of it. Anyway, I think I'll go down there and work some more.
Maybe more later, I'm going to try to stay up all night so I can get turned around...
Oh yeah! Sage said that I'm a PAUL, so I have something to put up on my awards page! Yeah! Also, being's I'm a good atheist(Atheists on the web), I get the use The Net Atheist logo! I need to re-arrange my front page again, just when you're getting used to it, I'm getting tired of it. Any suggestions?
Sage's Journal, Coffee Shakes, has long been one of my favorites. Actually, her whole site is pretty neat!
Speaking of things like that, and I may have said this before, I spend so much time with the journals that I seldom check out the rest of the journalers' pages; every time I have, though, it's been worthwhile and fun. So that's my recommendation of the day. Pick your favorite journaler and go over their site thoroughly.
And I expect a report from you tomorrow...
Just a short little addition:
O'well, I guess that's not too funny, anyway. But I'll leave it there, it's funnier that anything else I can think of right now... had an enjoyable evening, grandkids came over, Karen fixed a pot roast, I've just finished reading the ring (yeah, everybody!) and I'm wishing people that I'm interested in would update their pages more often! Yeah, you know who you are! See, I've got this thing... if I can write every day, so can you. Is your life outside the web really that important? Really? There's life outside the web?
No, really, I just appreciate what you give me, really. No, don't go out of your way just to please little old me... really! Well, OK, go ahead.
Actually (seriously, really!) I think that everyone does a really good job on the journaling. Most of us have jobs that require 8+ hours a day and families and lives and spouses and friends. My journaling suffers sometimes during the weeks that I work, I know. It suffers sometimes when I don't work. And y'all get to suffer along with it.
I did get some progress made on my near-future workspace in the basement. Got a lot of stuff moved around and I'm almost ready to move stuff down there. I just need to move one more shelving unit and mop the floor and clean the wall where I had the radial arm saw. It's got sawdust imbedded in it! The closer I get, the more enthusiastic I get about it...
