Things I've done in the last six hours....

  1. Added a monthly essay menu. Here it is.
  2. Written July's essay.
  3. Decided to put up one that I wrote in May and couldn't decide on.
  4. Added a FAQ to the main menu...
  5. Added a guestbook to the Journal TOC page... but the server is too busy to test it. I think maybe it's a bad idea. Somebody outgrew their facilities sooner than expected.... but I do like the idea of a instant feedback mechanism. I almost always do those, while it seems to be an effort to send e-mail.
  6. A different essay on journal popularity. here it is. Those of you who don't follow journals closely may miss the point... or just plain not know what I'm talking about. Sorry.

08:30

Ahhh, I got up too early again! I wanted to have a late night tonight so that I could just slip really easily back into my night routine. Maybe I will anyway, but I'll pay for it.

Doug and I are taking his boy Chris out to Betsy's fishing tonight. Chris loves to fish but he's never been somewhere like Betsy's... where he can catch lots of fish. I'm going to let them use the two-man while I use the canoe. I've not used the canoe for a year or so, it should be fun. The last time Doug and I went out with someone else, he used the canoe. He capsized it while getting the anchor in, and I happened to be watching him when it happened. I still haven't stopped laughing! He was in about ten feet of water, and lost one of his rods. I went over after he had dived several times trying to find it, put a jig on my line and retrieved it on the first cast. I thought that was pretty clever of me.

This is my last day for a while at the new Medassist. I've enjoyed working there so far, even with the problems I had yesterday with the new xray machine. I'll work from 11:00 until 17:00 today, then back to the old one tomorrow evening, then back to the hospital for seven nights. Kinda anxious to get back to the old grind, this working while the sun's shining is rather strange to me!

I won't get a chance to write more till after dark, when I'll tell you all about the fishing trip.

Fine evening fishing! As usual, I caught the most fish, but it was a paltry number compared to earlier this year. I caught eight, and Doug and Chris caught eleven together. It was a beautiful evening, light breezes and a beautiful sunset. The clouds that looked like a storm coming up in the west earlier turned out to be just a large cloud bank, and the sun came out from under just as it was setting, hitting the clouds on the underside and producing a wonderful peach color.

Really boring day at Medassist. We were undiscovered, quite unlike yesterday. Four patients, and I only got to see one of them. The rest were gone by the time I got there. Spent the day gossiping and reading and putting together metal storage cabinets for the xray jackets and listening to my CD's.

I'm going to try to stay up late tonight so I can sleep late tomorrow. I need to download MSIE 3.0 for the doctor at the new Medassist, he's got a neat laptop but he can't get his connection to work but for about three minutes, then it shuts him off. I initially had the same problem with MSIE 2.0, so I hope that this will cure his problem; it cured mine, but he's using a different service. He does a lot of correspondence with people in Bosnia, he's spent a lot of time over there recently setting up a Emergency Physician Residency program.

Tomorrow....

Thanx for being here!
