Late, it's about 23:40, we just got back from the lake. Poor Karen has to go to work tomorrow, and so does Steve. All us other people are off, and will sleep really late.

Our 4th of July picnic this year: Me, Karen, Tyler, Kim, Steve, Lacee, Packy, Matt and JED, Karen's ex-husband. Missing: Karla & Andy & Drew. We had a good time, went to Osage County State Fishing lake, where they had posted "NO FIREWORKS" signs on all of the entrances. There was no enforcement of this edict, as Matt and Steve proceeded to shoot off a weeks' salary worth of combustibles. The fireflies provided a show of their own in the lulls between displays; and I even got them to listen to a classical music station while the fireworks were going. (Yeah, the firefly listened too!) All in all, a rather pleasant evening.

The highlight of the night came when Matt decided to jump over a fountain display and it suddenly erupted into something more; he was barely able to evade getting his balls blown off at the cost of a magnificent fall. He didn't quite turn in mid-air, but it almost looked that way.

Very tired, going to bed now. Tyler is downstairs playing my guitar with the volume really low. He has developed into a very good guitar player, thanks to JD's tutelage and a lot of practice.

Thanx for being here!
