OK, Bill has said it. Frames is in. "OLD" is out. Go get MSIE 3.0 Beta now, for frames is coming here soon. Like, NOW. Actually, I will be running frames and "old" concurrently for the next few weeks, time enough for you to download and install MSIE 3.0. It's FREE and I think it's great, for what that's worth. Use the icon on the main menu to get to the microsoft site. I'm not really sure what frames-oriented HTML looks like with a non-frames browser since I don't have one anymore, but I hope that it's not too bad.
There will be a Frames and a Non-frames menu choice on Nilknarf; those of you who choose to use frames might want to bookmark the frame page as you go in.
Netscape is also a frames-compliant browser, but I don't recommend it because I don't like it. To be frank(lin) about it, I hate it...
I've been wanting to add graphics to these pages for quite a while now, but I hate the time it takes to load them. This frames stuff is the perfect solution for that, plus a handy menu on the side. I'm just getting into this and it's fun. It would be more fun if I could ever get eight hours of sleep in a row...
Yeah, I was up 'til 02:30 last night, and I got up at 04:30 and couldn't get back to sleep. This on top of staying awake all day yesterday specifically so I could get a good night's sleep. So, anyway, I started on the frames thing about 05:00 and had it whipped together by 07:00. I really like the way it looks, and I hope you do too. Comments/criticism will be appreciated!
Eventually, this entire site will use frames, 'cause I think they're neat. However, it will be a gradual thing; I will do my poems next, then rantings, etc.
Actually, I'm too tired to be doing this now, but I'm gonna do it anyway...
I do believe that Karen's getting jealous of the time I've been spending in here. Of course, the time that she doesn't spend with me, she spends with the grandkids. We just need to get away by ourselves for a weekend, and get back that always-together feeling. It's really hard to maintain, given our (actually, my) schedule, and needs some concentrated effort on a regular basis. And it's time!
The really sad thing about this week off that I've had...I haven't been fishing, not once. I just couldn't work up any enthusiasm about it, just as I couldn't get "up" about anything. When my sleep schedule doesn't go right, nothing seems to go right. In my younger days, I could go on several hours, but not anymore, it's gotta be eight!
