Monday 10 JUN 1996 - Redneckin' -16:30

Once again, the "nap" was a helluva lot longer than I had wanted...I slept until 21:00, then was up until wee hours again. I just can't seem to get it straight. Maybe I shouldn't even try to be up "normal" hours since I do so poorly at it.

I did get some stuff done today, anyway. The Saab that has been sitting in our front yard is gone... away to the transmission shop. I can quit feeling like a redneck now...

Nah... I still feel like a redneck.

It took quite a bit of work to get the Saab gone. I had to change a tire, get it repaired, put it back on, take out the battery, charge it up, put it back in, jump-start it and move it onto the street. Before I charged the battery, I had to fix the charger. It had rotted out the cable, so I had to splice it before it would work.

My lack of energy seems to be getting worse. Everything I do just wears me out anymore. Aside from the fatigue, I feel fine. Hopefully, it's something that'll pass soon. If it isn't, I may have to go to the doctor and tell him what's wrong and how to fix it...(that's a joke, folks!)

Been spending more time on the net lately, just looking around. I recently downloaded the new beta version of MS Newsreader, and I'm back on the newsgroups. I haven't done much of that recently, the newsreader I was using was pretty much of a hassle, and the news-servers were constantly deciding that they didn't want me there. I've got one now that seems pretty steady, but there's not much porno on it... it's the department of the Navy one, so that's to be expected. Everyone knows how prim and proper navy people are!

I got a note from a lady from Australia the other day & she told me that she'd read my journal over the last few days, and it started me thinking about the journals that I've "caught up" on, and then followed. I've done this with every diarist that I read regularly, and it's usually very disappointing, because when you have a year's worth of stuff there, it goes really, really fast. Then you get caught up. Suddenly, the diarists' life is only lived one day at a time, the way all of our lives are. Slow. Not boring, but just slow. So, what do you do? Why, you look on their link lists and you find another diarist. Start all over again. Pretty soon, you've got a stable built up. The only problem then is keeping them straight. Let's see, was that Sage with the tooth problem, or Jessa? Wait, it was Jessa when she had a job... maybe it was Cara... Kinda like a very complicated soap opera, only it's impossible to figger out the plot, or to guess right about what'll happen next, 'cause it's really real life. And I'm addicted to it, I love it.

23:45

Kind of a fun evening, only I forgot to call JD & Tyler, I had been meaning to do that all weekend but my hours were so screwed up...

When Karen came home she was pleased to see that the Saab was gone, but disappointed that I hadn't got more done around the house. I was disappointed, too, by how little ambition I've had lately. I think it might have something to do with my medication change, although logically, it should have had the opposite effect.

Anyway, we went to see Packy play in his first T-ball game. He did really well, he had the ball hit to him four or five times and was paying attention and knew what to do with it. He throws the ball really hard and straight when he's playing catch, but not during a game. He tries to lighten it up because the other kids can't catch it, and he gets off his stride and either dribbles it or throws it crooked. He really loves playing, though. And he's the cutest kid on the team. Lacee was cheerleading for him occasionally, but she was mostly getting in trouble. She's been testing her boundaries a lot lately, and doesn't really like having boundaries. Pretty typical for a three-year-old, I guess.

After the game, Karen & I went to Furr's and ate, we haven't been there for quite a while. It was very good and pretty cheap, too. All-you-can-eat and a drink for $6.77 apiece. And they still have a Smoking Section!

Hopefully, to sleep now. I want to go fishing tomorrow and I need to get some stuff done first.

Thanx for being here!
