Nilknarf is finally revealed!

Nilky is now on-line. For those of you who don't know Nilky, I guess you'll have to look and see. I can't explain him. Some sorta alter ego thing, or a secret pal. Anyway, he can say things that I wouldn't say, either on these pages or in private. He will probably be offensive to some people. Those people should pay particular attention to the seventh frame.

Nilky will probably be less regular than the journal pages; I really don't know. There are a lot of things I don't know about Nilky. I just hope that he doesn't get me into too much trouble!

One of the first comments I received on Nilky was from my brother. "elves, indeed" he said. So I said---

It's not an ELF, dammit! Elves have little green hats and do magic. Gnomes, on the other hand, are just ugly and ill-kempt, even though they're MUCH smarter than the elves, who rely on magic instead of brainpower. The heyday of the elves, of course, is long gone; natural selection and the generalized disbelief in magic has been their downfall. You've probably noticed many more gnomish people around than elvish, haven't you? So there!

Nilky's Gnarly Gnomisms have exhausted me creatively. I'll let you know when there are more...

Doug & I went fishing at Lake Shawnee this afternoon & evening. We fished for an hour or so, then picked up Doug's son Chris. Chris is heading to be as good a fisherman as his dad, I'm afraid. Anyway, I caught one (yes, that's "1") bass, while Doug had 12. You just never know, do ya. At least I didn't get skunked. We quit around 19:30, it was starting to get cold.

I got home and Karen & Matt had been doing yard work. Matt actually cut the grass! I was amazed. I felt really guilty, because I had told Karen that I would get the house cleaned up, but I slept really late (I was up late last night doing Nilky, ingrates!) and Doug got off early, and, well, you know where my priorities are...

I renewed my promise to Karen that I would clean up the house tomorrow and this time I can't get out of it!(alive, anyway)
